The following is a compilation of games and activities to play during SMA’s Catholic Chronicles VBS: Voyage of Faith. There are both indoor and outdoor games listed. Adjust the activities a to be age-appropriate. Play games outside if weather permits; play games inside in inclement weather. CANNON BALL THROW
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader takes place on a ship. Make “cannon balls” out of black balloons filled with water or flour. Throw them at a target. Can put up plastic cups in a line to imitate a sea serpent, that the kids can try to knock down.
COCONUT BOWLING
Set up a “bowling set” with a coconut and bottles filled with blue water, or bottles made to look like a palm tree.

DIG FOR TREASURE
Bury “treasure” in a tub of sand. Divide the kids into two groups and have each group find the items on a list. Items can be: coins, gems, necklaces, etc. First team to find all items, wins!

DUFFLEPUD RACE
Dufflepuds are characters in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader that look like giant mushrooms, with one leg and one big foot. Have Dufflepud races where two teams either do a sack race, or put both feet into one shoe and move towards the finish line.
DRAGON HUNT
In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Eustace is turned into a Dragon and Aslan helps him turn back into a boy. Hide little plastic dragons around the field (can hide under cones and other items) and have teams “rescue” for them!
INFLATABLE SWORD GAMES
Use the hobby horses and inflatable swords to collect different rings around the field. Hit a ping pong ball with the swords like baseball. Walk across a “plank” with one or two swords in your hands!
BEACH BALL SOCCER
Play soccer with a beach ball, or pass the beach ball around (no running while passing), to get it into baskets at the end of the field.
INFLATABLE DRAGON THROW
Use the inflatable dragons for a throwing relay. Throw water balloons or other type of balls into the dragon.
